About Seven Eight:

Seven Eight is a digital magazine about Stratford, Ontario, its people, and its culture. It’s named for Highways 7 and 8, two of the area’s major thoroughfares that meet at the centre of the city. Whereas Stratford’s other publications, namely The Beacon Herald, StratfordToday, and The Stratford Times, primarily cover community events and breaking news, Seven Eight publishes feature writing and magazine segments. It was founded on the idea that the minutiae of any community, regardless of its size, are interesting.

About Erin Kerekes:

Erin Kerekes is the founder of Seven Eight. She is a writer and an editor who grew up in Stratford, left for a bit, then came back. In her regular work Erin is managing editor of a national publication.

A Note on Frequency:

I originally envisioned Seven Eight as a weekly magazine; however, the demands of full-time work, motherhood, and all the life that happens in between mean that I can’t produce a weekly newsletter at this time. For now, I aim to publish quarterly. Please consider subscribing so you never miss a post.

“If it fails in its portrayal of the scenes and the country that it depicts the fault lies rather with an art that is deficient than in an affection that is wanting.”—Stephen Leacock, Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town
